Bio:
Michiko Inoue is a gifted pianist and composer, born and raised in Fukuoka, Japan. She began studying classical piano in the Yamaha music school and Fukuoka Jogakuin High School, but her interest in jazz was piqued at 17 years old. After studying jazz piano in Fukuoka Women's Junior College, Michiko joined the Berklee Five-Week Summer program in 2017, and was awarded a prestigious scholarship, after which she enrolled in Berklee College of Music in 2019 to study jazz piano, learning from accomplished musicians like Billy Kilson, Joanne Brackeen, Kevin Harris, Jason Yeager, and Jon Hazilla.
In 2020, Michiko decided to return to Japan due to the pandemic and started teaching piano to children and adults. She performed for weekly jazz concerts with her band and provided background music for a bar lounge on a weekly basis. Her performances have been received with high praise and positive reviews.
Currently based in the US, Michiko resumed her studies at Berklee College of Music in June 2023, pursuing her passion for composing and playing jazz piano.
